Supports for Migrant Communities & International Students

Support for migrant communities addresses the unique challenges faced by individuals and families who have relocated to a new country. This may include assistance with language acquisition, cultural integration, legal advice, and access to essential services to help newcomers successfully adapt to their new environment.

Similarly, the supports provided for international students includes navigating workplace culture and academia life, identifying and connecting students with essential services to adjust to their new learning environment and community, and discussing general advice for support systems in Australia pertaining to education and Visa related matters.

As a vibrant, multicultural community, it is important to ensure that all members within the community have a sense of belonging, inclusion, and experience social cohesion within their new neighbourhood (Parliament of Australia). This enables and encourages a multitude of positive effects for participants, including more positive social relationships, academic achievements, occupational success, in turn resulting in improved physical and mental health (Australian Journal of Psychology).
